Omni Accounts Automisation (2012-03-12)
   
 
Prior to March 2012, eSolve eCommerce only integrated to Omni Accounts as follows:

- Import client account information from Omni Accounts to eSolve eCommerce
- Import stock items and item images from Omni Accounts to eSolve eCommerce

When an order is placed on the online shop website, an email confirmation is sent to the website shopper and to the website vendor. The order is also saved in the website vendors eSolve eCommerce website database for processing and for history purposes only accessible via the eSolve Control Panel.

The standard functionality made double work for the website vendor as website orders had to be re-captured into Omni Accounts. Our development team got to work and developed the functionality to write the sales order from the online shop back to Omni Accounts.

Once the sales order is saved in the Omni Accounts database, the order simply needs to be converted to an invoice and then sent to the client in Omni Accounts.

This presents a challenge as the data required to raise the invoice must first be captured to the line of business system, in this case Omni Accounts, as all the general ledger and other stock control functions reside in the accounting software.

Our development team overcame this challenge by adding functionality that works with the Omni Accounts Automisation Switch.

Orders created on the website can now be automatically imported using the eSolve Update Center in conjunction with the Omni Accounts Automisation Switch functionality. This functionality allows the Omni User to simply open Sales Orders, make any required changes and convert the document into and invoice that can be emailed to the website shopper or upload the invoice to the eSolve eCommerce Control Panel referencing the corresponding order number.

eSolve eCommerce Omni Accounts Integration can now:

  • Import client account information from Omni Accounts to eSolve eCommerce
  • Import stock items and item images from Omni Accounts to eSolve eCommerce
  • Import orders placed online back to Omni Accounts Sales Orders.
